Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan has rejected the Indian leadership’s “fabrications” over the Pahalgam attack, saying that New Delhi should stop acting as judge, jury, and executioner.
“Pakistan categorically rejects the baseless accusations and provocative claims made by the Indian leaders during the Lok Sabha debate on the so-called ‘Operation Sindoor’,” said FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan on Wednesday.
During a Lok Sabha session, Indian Home Minister Amit Shah had alleged that those involved in the Pahalgam incident were linked to Pakistan, citing the recovery of Pakistani voter cards and locally produced chocolates from three individuals killed in a gunfight in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the same debate, also rejected claims that any international figure had influenced India’s decisions during the May conflict with Pakistan, remarks seemingly aimed at dismissing earlier statements by US President Donald Trump, who claimed to have played a role in mediating a ceasefire.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said such comments were not only misleading but also dangerous, pointing out that India had launched military strikes without credible evidence or an independent investigation into the Pahalgam incident.
Commenting on India’s recent announcement of “Operation Mahadev,” the spokesperson dismissed it as lacking credibility and substance, particularly questioning the timing of the operation’s alleged success coinciding with the beginning of the Lok Sabha debate.
Responding to Indian assertions of establishing a so-called “new normal” in ties with Pakistan, the FO said Islamabad rejects such rhetoric. “Our position remains firm: respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and adherence to the UN Charter are the only acceptable foundation for bilateral relations.”
The spokesperson also rejected India’s narrative of “nuclear blackmail” as misleading and a cover for its own aggressive behavior. Pakistan, he stated, has relied on its conventional deterrence while maintaining restraint and discipline.

The statement further condemned India’s threat to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, warning that any such move would undermine the integrity of international agreements and erode regional cooperation. “Treaties must be honored, not flaunted as tools of coercion,” said Shafqat.
In conclusion, Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to peace and stability in the region. “We remain open to meaningful engagement on all core issues, especially the longstanding dispute of Jammu and Kashmir,” the FO reiterated.
