Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan on Friday dismissed remarks by Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, who claimed that India had successfully struck nine targets in Pakistan during a May 7 operation.
The Foreign Office described his comments as distorted and misleading, and a violation of international norms.
Speaking at the weekly press briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said Doval’s remarks were a “deliberate attempt to mislead the public,” adding that boasting about military strikes against another sovereign nation was a serious breach of the UN Charter and international law.
“Rather than creating false narratives, India should acknowledge the loss of six of its fighter jets and the damage to military assets during the confrontation,” Khan asserted.
He further stated that the targets hit by India were not militant camps but civilian locations, resulting in the loss of innocent lives, facts that, he said, are well documented and known.

In response to a question, Khan said that India is sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan. “Initially, India’s state-backed terrorism focused on destabilizing Pakistan. But more recently, we’ve seen it take a global turn,” he said, pointing to reported assassination plots linked to Indian intelligence in countries like Canada and the United States.
Khan warned that if such actions go unchecked, they could have dangerous consequences well beyond South Asia.

When asked about recently declassified US documents suggesting that Washington spent billions in Afghanistan, allegedly with Pakistan’s facilitation, to oust the Soviet Union, Khan struck a measured tone.
“The past is the past. We must use those lessons to shape a better future, not become prisoners of it,” he said.
Khan declined to comment on reports that US President Donald Trump had threatened to bomb Beijing in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, saying it was not Pakistan’s place to speculate on such claims.
