Brussels (TDI): Pakistan reiterated its steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause at the second meeting of the “Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution,” held in Brussels on Thursday, the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The meeting, aimed at advancing a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, focused on ending Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
Pakistan was represented by Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, who underscored Islamabad’s principled stance on the issue.
Speaking at the forum, Baloch called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged the global community to intensify efforts to resolve the decades-long conflict.
“The international community must unite to ensure a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian question,” she remarked, reiterating Pakistan’s support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital of a sovereign Palestinian state.
The Global Alliance was established to foster international coordination for concrete, time-bound measures to secure the two-state solution.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of unrelenting violence in Gaza, where year-long military operations by Israeli forces have claimed over 44,000 Palestinian lives and left more than 100,000 injured.
The foreign secretary stressed the urgency of a ceasefire, condemning the ongoing bloodshed.
Sovereign Palestine State
“A sovereign Palestinian state is not just a matter of justice but a prerequisite for durable peace in the Middle East,” she asserted.
Pakistan’s participation in the forum reaffirms its historical support for the Palestinian people and its advocacy for their right to self-determination on international platforms.
