Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Iran Amid Escalation

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday voiced strong support for Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East, condemning what he called Israel’s unprovoked and unjustifiable attacks.

Speaking in an interview with a private news channel, Asif said Pakistan stood “shoulder to shoulder” with its neighbor Iran.

He warned that the conflict risks spiraling into a broader regional war if hostilities aren’t halted immediately.

“We condemn Israel’s aggression in the strongest terms,” he stated. “The danger of a larger war engulfing the region is real, and urgent steps must be taken to de-escalate.”

Asif noted that the latest crisis had, in fact, drawn Pakistan and Iran closer, strengthening what he described as a “brotherly bond” between the two nations.

Commenting on the broader implications, the minister said Israel’s continued military actions present a constant threat to regional peace.

“The very idea of peace with Israel is flawed,” he argued. “Its actions are a direct challenge to stability in the Middle East.”

He added that Israel’s perceived invincibility had been badly dented. “Despite everything, the people of Gaza remain unbroken and their spirit is rock solid,” he said.

The defense minister rejected the notion that military force could subdue a people’s will. “Bombing Muslim populations into submission is a fantasy,” he said. “It has never worked, and it never will.”

Turning briefly to India’s position on the crisis, Asif said New Delhi had overestimated its international standing.

“India’s refusal to accept US mediation reveals a weakness, not strength, in its diplomatic posture,” he remarked.
