Vientiane, Lao PDR, 30 July 2024 (TDI): Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi on Monday emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace, security, and cooperation.
He made these remarks while addressing the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial meeting in Vientiane, Laos.
Qazi, who led Pakistan’s delegation at the forum, highlighted the significance of Pakistan’s relations with ASEAN and its member states in his address.
He appreciated ASEAN’s significant role in fostering regional integration and prosperity, and explained Pakistan’s perspective on various regional conflicts in the Asia-Pacific, advocating for dialogue and inclusiveness as essential tools for conflict resolution.
Addressing the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the foreign secretary called for another resolution following the previous UN Security Council resolutions.
Qazi also highlighted the situations in Gaza and Afghanistan and called for the need for collaborative efforts to address these challenges.
The meeting underscored Pakistan’s active engagement and constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
