Lachin (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that Pakistan was ready to receive $2 billion investment from Azerbaijan in different sectors.
The prime minister, talking to Azerbaijan TV prior to his departure from Lachin to Dushanbe after winding up his three-day trip, stated that during their meeting, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev had reiterated his country’s commitment to invest $2 billion in Pakistan.
“Yesterday, President Ilham Aliyev again reiterated his commitment to invest $2 billion in Pakistan. We are prepared for this investment for shared benefits,” he said.
Pointing to his participation in an event celebrating Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, organized on Wednesday, the premier said that May 28 was also a very important day for our nation as Pakistan became a nuclear power on that date in 1998.

He described Azerbaijan as a “brotherly and great” nation which had achieved significant development under the “dynamic” leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
The prime minister further mentioned that during his meeting with President Aliyev, they explored opportunities for cooperation in trade, commerce and investment.

In the future, both nations will have more coordination in the fields of commerce, defense production, education, health and many other sectors, he added.
