Islamabad (TDI): Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening relations with Qatar, highlighting mutual benefits and potential avenues for expanding cooperation between the two countries.

During a meeting with Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday, Gilani remarked on the strong economic and trade potential that exists between the “brotherly countries.”

He noted that Pakistan’s favorable investment environment offers promising opportunities for Qatari companies, encouraging them to capitalize on the country’s business-friendly climate.

The Acting President lauded Qatar for successfully hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022, noting it as a significant achievement and a testament to Qatar’s growing prominence on the world stage.

He also expressed gratitude for Qatar’s support for the Pakistani diaspora, which he said has been instrumental in fostering cultural linkages between the two nations.

In response, Ambassador Al-Khater praised Pakistan’s economic landscape, confirming that Qatar’s Minister for Investment, accompanied by a delegation, would soon visit Pakistan to explore potential investment ventures across various sectors.

He expressed optimism that the recent visit by Pakistan’s Prime Minister to Qatar would further deepen economic cooperation, opening new pathways for investment.
