Islamabad, 22 June 2022 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif met with the Saudi delegation of investors led by Fahad bin Mohammad Al-Bash, Chairman Pakistan-Saudi Business Council.

The Prime Minister has urged Saudi investors to invest in the various sectors of Pakistan.

While talking to the delegation of Saudi Investors and businessmen, he said that Pakistan has huge potential for investment in various fields including minerals and agriculture.

He mentioned that the two countries enjoy excellent brotherly relations and both the countries should transform their mutual cooperation into economic partnership.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Saudi Arabia has always extended support to Pakistan on Economic and diplomatic fronts.

Further, he reaffirmed that it is the desire of Pakistan to enhance bilateral cooperation within different sectors including trade and investment.

Highlights of the Meeting

This meeting highlighted that Pakistan is an emerging country in terms of investment potential with many facilities for business and making a safe investment environment.

He assured that the investment of Saudi businessmen is in secure hands and they will be able to earn and return their profit.

In addition to this, Pakistan provides ample opportunities for trade and investment in minerals, textile, tourism, leather, and other sectors.

The Pakistani government briefed them about the investment in the oil refinery industry in Gwadar where Saudi investors have shown their keen interest.

It was agreed that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will accelerate progress in the trade as well as,  investment and in this regard, the Pakistan Saudi Arab joint Working Group would be activated.

This meeting was a follow-up of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia in April of this year, where he met Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.

As per the statement issued by Prime Minister’s Office, both leaders discussed matters related to expanding trade and business ties, increasing investment, and creating opportunities for Pakistan’s manpower.

In conclusion of the meeting, it was to be mentioned that both nations enjoy strengthening economic relations.

Also, Pakistan has been increasingly exporting its products to Saudi Arabia while the latter plays an important role in meeting the oil need of the country.
