Islamabad, (TDI) National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its relationship with the European Union, emphasizing the importance of developing a robust strategic partnership.
“Pakistan highly values its relationship with the European Union and is committed to further strengthening it,” he said during a meeting with a visiting EU delegation led by Frans van Daele, the EU’s Special Envoy, at the Parliament House.
Dr Reena Kavinka, the EU Ambassador to Pakistan, was also present at the meeting.
Sadiq highlighted Pakistan’s multicultural, multi-religious, and multi-ethnic composition.

He said that citizens enjoy fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
He also underscored Parliament’s consistent efforts to safeguard the rights and welfare of all Pakistanis, including minorities, who play a significant role in the country’s development and prosperity.
The speaker reiterated the Parliament’s commitment to promoting religious harmony and ensuring the full representation of minority communities in the legislative process.

He also drew attention to the human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and Gaza, urging the international community to take action against the ongoing atrocities in these regions.
Pakistan’s Global Importance
EU Special Envoy Frans van Daele acknowledged Pakistan’s global importance and expressed the European Union’s desire to strengthen both bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the country.
“The European Union is keen to enhance its engagement with Pakistan,” he added.
