Pakistan Offers Training Facilities to Qatari Armed Forces

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan has offered its military training facilities to the Qatari Armed Forces as part of efforts to further strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.

The offer was made during a meeting between Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Brigadier General Abdul Hadi Mohammed Arhib Al Hajri, Military Attaché of the State of Qatar, in Islamabad, the press release noted.

Welcoming the Qatari official, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan places great importance on its relationship with Qatar, describing it as a key regional partner.

He noted that bilateral ties are built on mutual respect and cooperation and have remained strong and smooth over the years.

The defense minister said both countries should work closely to expand cooperation beyond the economic sphere to include defense collaboration, joint military exercises, personnel training, and defense-related joint ventures.

He added that Pakistan’s military institutions are fully prepared to offer maximum training opportunities to the Qatari Armed Forces.

Brigadier General Al Hajri acknowledged the existing scope of defense cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support in the military domain.

The meeting reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to further deepening defense and security ties.
