Islamabad, 6 August 2024 (TDI): Netherlands Ambassador Henny De Vries called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of bilateral cooperation and noted with appreciation the positive trajectory of ties between Pakistan and the Netherlands, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on social media platform X.
Pakistan and Netherlands have long-standing relations and history of cooperation in different fields.
Pakistan established diplomatic ties with the Netherlands in 1948, and since then, the bilateral cooperation has continued to grow in diverse sectors, including political, education, water management, trade and investment, science and technology, climate change and cooperation at multilateral institutions.
The Netherlands is also the second-largest trade destination for Pakistani goods in the European Union (EU).
In April, both countries agreed to cooperate in technology transfer and leverage the expertise of the Netherlands in agriculture, dairy, and farm production.

In a meeting with Finance Minister Mhammad Aurangzeb, Ambassador de Vries had informed him about the pilot projects being run by the Netherlands in Pakistan, including fish production, ensuring labour safety and environmental standards in textile industries, and projects on water management in agriculture.
