Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan Pledge Stronger Cooperation

Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyz Republic, reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation during a meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government (CHG) summit.

The event, taking place from 15-16 October, provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss key areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for Kyrgyzstan’s active participation in the SCO CHG meeting, commending the country’s support during Pakistan’s tenure as chair of the organization.

He highlighted the deep-rooted and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration across various sectors, including trade, investment, regional connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.

During the discussions, Japarov congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz on the successful organization of the SCO CHG meeting, praising Pakistan’s exceptional hospitality and warm welcome.

He reiterated Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan in areas of mutual benefit, noting the strong desire to further bolster ties across a wide range of sectors.

Both leaders agreed on the need to explore new avenues of cooperation to strengthen the bond between their countries, enhancing regional stability and connectivity.
