Islamabad (TDI): Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, called on Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of environmental protection.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kistafin thanked the Pakistani government for the warm welcome extended to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and his delegation during their recent visit to Islamabad.

He expressed satisfaction over the steady progress in bilateral relations and described ties between the two countries as rooted in brotherhood and mutual respect.

The Ambassador invited Dr. Musadik Malik to participate in the upcoming Regional Ecological Summit scheduled to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, in April.

Dr. Musadik Malik welcomed the invitation and emphasized that Pakistan and Kazakhstan share strong historical and cultural ties.

He noted that there is much the two countries can learn from one another and underscored the importance of expanding collaboration and trade not only bilaterally but also with the broader Central Asian region.

Both sides discussed the practical implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Pakistan and explored potential avenues of cooperation and joint projects, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, financial technology, and electronic governance.

The meeting also included discussions on pressing environmental challenges such as water scarcity and climate change, With a focus on strengthening collaboration in environmental protection and sustainable development.
