Kuwait, 29 November 2023 (TDI): The Republic of Pakistan and the State of Kuwait witness the start of a new phase of bilateral economic relations with each other as the visit of Prime Minister Pakistan secures 10 multi-billion dollar agreements with Kuwait.
Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwar-Ul-Haq Kakar is on a two-day official visit to the state of Kuwait, he is accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, and members of the interim federal cabinet.
The Prime Minister and delegation met with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, Sheikh Talal Al Khaled Al Ahmed Al Sabah.
During the meeting, both leaders highlighted the importance of historical brotherly ties between the two countries and reaffirmed the desire to strengthen the fraternal ties by transforming them into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
Prime Minister, Chief of Army Staff, and Pakistani delegation along with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Kuwait witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understandings of cooperation between Pakistan and the State of Kuwait.
The agreements signed were between the private sector of Pakistan and Kuwait, the signing of seven agreements aimed at attracting multi-billion dollar investment from the state of Kuwait in various sectors of Pakistan.
The MOUs (Memorandum of Understanding) signed between both countries are across various diverse fields including food, security, agriculture, hydel power, water supplies, and establishing a mining fund to support the mineral industry.
It also included technology zone development and mangrove preservations.
Additionally, 3 MOUs were inked in culture and art, environment, and sustainable development marking a new phase in economic relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.

The leaders expressed their satisfaction at the trajectory of relations and agreed to remain in close contact and to take swift steps in further strengthening and deepening of relations between the two countries.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan termed the agreements with Kuwait another milestone achievement which the SIFC (Special Investment Facilitation Council) is bringing for the country.
He also conveyed prayers for the good health of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, His Royal Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.
