Pakistan government awarded scholarships to Afghan students

-

Islamabad,  July 24, 2021- (TDI): Pakistan has been a staunch supporter of Afghanistan’s social and economic growth. Under a special arrangement with NCOC, 857 undergraduate students for the Allama Muhammad Iqbal scholarship arrived in Pakistan via Torkham (24-25 July) out of 1000 scholarship spots for this academic year.

These students will be enlisted in zero semesters where their university requirements for studies in Pakistan will be reviewed. They will begin their professional courses in top Pakistani universities afterward. Post-graduate students will begin their programs when they have completed their studies.

So far, the Pakistani government has awarded 6000 scholarships to Afghan students through the Prime Minister’s Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship scheme. This type of engagement will strengthen friendly ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the future.
