Islamabad, 2 July 2022 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs arranged a Mango Festival as a part of a series of activities and events to celebrate Pakistan’s 75th anniversary.
It was arranged in a partnership with Serena Hotels and Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Association.
Pakistan produces 250 verities of mangoes.

The festival was in line with the series of activities and events organized throughout the year to commemorate the 75th Independence Anniversary-Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan.
75th Pay Kuch Khaas
The themes ‘Pakistan at 75′ and ’75thPayKuchKhaas’ have been adopted to uniquely celebrate this year’s independence. Following this, the event projected Pakistan’s culinary and agricultural richness linked with the production of more than 200 varieties of mangoes.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari attended as the guest of honor. Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, CEO Serena Hotel Aziz Boolani, and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov of Turkmenistan also graced the event with their presence.
Patron-in-Chief PFVA Waheed Ahamd and Senior Vise Chairman PFVA Shoaib Ahmad were also present at the event.
In addition, many Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Islamabad also attended.
Over three hundred persons were in attendance. Chiefly the list included Diplomatic Corps, Business Executives, and Bureau Chiefs of Local and Foreign Publications. They were further joined by Representatives of the Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Association and Officers of the Ministery of Foreign Affairs.
Significantly, the Embassies of China and UAE also set up stalls offering mango dishes from their cuisine.

Foreign Minister’s Remarks
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the significance of the festival. He commended the events taking place to celebrate the 75th Independence anniversary.
Highlighting a large number of varieties of mangoes produced in Pakistan, he mentioned that Pakistan mangoes are popular around the world due to their superior quality.
He also highlighted that Pakistan’s missions abroad organized Mango festivals in their host countries.
Participants were served freshly cut mangoes, ice creams, salads, milkshakes, chutneys, pickles, and lassi. Moreover, they appreciated the different mango varieties on display and the mango-based cuisine.
Pakistani mangoes and their potential popularity are recognized in Pakistan and the international market.
