Langfang, 16 August 2022 (TDI): To celebrate the 75th independence anniversary of Pakistan, the Pakistani Embassy in China held a Food and Cultural Festival on Saturday at the Silk Road Art and Cultural Centre in Langfang.

This festival provided a good opportunity for Chinese people to learn about Pakistani culture. The two-day event focused to highlight the rich history, magnificent landscapes, cultural legacy, goods, crafts, literature, and traditional food of Pakistan.

Over 300 individuals attended the opening ceremony. These include Chinese officials, government representatives, business executives, members of the media, ambassadors, and members of the Pakistani community.

Pakistani Ambassador’s remarks

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, stated in the opening ceremony, “75th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence was a historic milestone for Pakistan which stands today the 5th largest nation of 220 million hard-working, talented people.”

Moin ul Haque highlighted the strengths of Pakistan as an investment and tourist destination. He also invited Chinese citizens to travel to Pakistan and enjoy the tourist season.

Moreover, the ambassador also spoke in depth on China and Pakistan’s long-standing, unique friendship and iron brotherhood. He believed that by hosting such events, the two nations’ cultural exchanges and collaboration will grow.

Celebrations during the festival

The festival included a variety of events, such as cultural performances, a display of Pakistani goods and handicrafts, a photo exhibition, youngster games, and delicious Pakistani food.

On this occasion, a unique children’s art activity was also organized. In this activity, children created a sizable picture reflecting the friendship between Pakistan and China. A virtual reality booth offered virtual tours of Lahore Fort and Lake Saif ul Malook.

Moreover, two famous movies ‘Parvaz hai Janoon’ and the animated movie ‘Allahyar and legends of Markhor’ were also shown at the festival.

President of the China-Pakistan Friendship Association, Ambassador Sha Zukang said on the occasion that Pakistan and China have long-standing friendly ties. Both states have supported one another during difficult times. And the friendly relations between both states will grow more in the future.
