Islamabad (TDI): The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Melinda Bohannaon, Director General for Humanitarian and Development at the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), on Monday.
The delegation also included Jo Moir, Development Director, and Louie Dane, Senior Economist, alongside senior officials from the Finance Division.
During the meeting, the minister outlined the government’s stabilization and structural reforms agenda.
Key initiatives discussed included privatization, federal government rightsizing, pension reforms, and the restructuring of state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

The minister highlighted a 25.6% year-on-year increase in tax revenues during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
Bohannaon praised the government’s comprehensive reform efforts and assured continued support from the FCDO.
The minister also shared details about Pakistan’s upcoming ten-year Country Partnership Framework with the World Bank, making Pakistan the first country to adopt such a framework.
Government’s Commitment to Sustainable Development
He emphasized that the initiative aims to tackle critical challenges such as population growth, child stunting, and climate change, reflecting the government’s commitment to sustainable development.
Both sides stressed the importance of a proactive approach to reforms and agreed on the need for perseverance to ensure the long-term impact of the initiatives.
