Pakistan express solidarity with Chinese victims of suicide attack

Wuhan, 1 April 2024 (TDI): Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource, Chaudhary Salik Hussain arrived in Wuhan on Monday to express solidarity with the government and people of China. 

The Minister arrived on a special flight from Pakistan, that carried the mortal remains of the five Chinese personnel, who died during the terrorist attack on the convoy of Chinese engineers near Shangla District of Kyber Pakhtunkhwa province on 26th March. 

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zedong was present to bid farewell to the deceased at the airport in Pakistan. 

Upon arrival, Chaudhary Salik Hussain was received by high ranking government officials and representatives from Pakistan Embassy in China at Wuhan airport. The federal minister also attended the special ceremony held to pay homage to the five deceased personnel. 

Moreover, the Federal Minister held a meeting with the Vice Governor of Hubei Province, Chen Ping. The minister offered his deepest condolences on the loss of innocent lives. 

Furthermore, he also reiterated Pakistan’s solemn commitment to bringing to justice the perpetrators who committed this heinous crime. 

Lastly, the Minister also paid rich tribute to the Chinese personnel for their invaluable contribution in the development and progress of Pakistan and vowed that the government and people of Pakistan would never let the evil plans against China-Pakistan relations succeed.

Last week, on Wednesday a vehicle laden with explosives targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers and a Pakistani driver, in the remote Besham area of KPK, killing six people.  

Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed that China firmly supports Pakistan in fighting terrorism. We are solid in our commitment to the safety and security of Chinese nationals, institutions and projects overseas.  

No attempt to sabotage China-Pakistan cooperation will ever succeed. China will continue supporting Pakistan’s socioeconomic development and efforts to make lives better for its people, and we remain firm in our commitment to working with Pakistan in various fields and delivering more benefit to the two peoples.
