Research Collaborations between Pakistan and the Horizon Europe

Pakistan’s active engagement in the Horizon 2020 program since 2014 has led to transformative outcomes, revolutionizing the research and innovation landscape within the country and generating significant advantages.

It has enabled Pakistani researchers and institutions to engage in joint projects and collaborate with European counterparts. Key research areas that have thrived under Horizon 2020 include health, energy, water, ICT, and agriculture.

Involvement in Horizon 2020 has supported Pakistan’s goal of strengthening its knowledge, economy and enhancing its global research competitiveness.

As Horizon Europe takes over, the future holds great promise for continued funding and innovative collaborations between Pakistan and the EU.

This transition presents new opportunities to address global challenges, drive scientific and technological progress, and foster mutual growth and development.
