Islamabad, 28 October 2021 (TDI): An online Pakistan Pavilion has been set up at the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai from November 5 to 10 this year.

The Pakistani delegation will be led by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moin-Ul-Haq and will include more than 200 exhibitors and more than 500 buyers. Pakistanis living in China will also set up stalls to attend the event.

President Xi Jinping in May 2017 announced the establishment of the International Import Expo (CIIE) for International Cooperation at the Belt and Road Forum to be held from 2018 in China.

This move of the Chinese government opens their market to the world, and also gives support to economic globalization and trade liberalization.

According to Hussain Haider, who is the Pakistan Consul General in Shanghai, that several Pakistani exhibitors who are already in China will “set up stalls to showcase popular gadgets from Pakistan to the Chinese market”.

He further added that “This year, the traders and businessmen from Pakistan are not coming to China owing to traveling restrictions and quarantine in wake of Covid-19 pandemic”.

The holding of such expo facilitates the countries all over the world to strengthen trade and economic cooperation, and to promote world economic growth and global trade to make the economy of the world more open.

The Chinese government wants to explore the Chinese market in the world therefore, they welcome the business communities, exhibitors, government officials, and purchasers to participate in CIIE.
