Pakistan donates rice to Gambia

Gambia, June 17, 2021 (TDI): Pakistani High Commissioner to Gambia Dr. Ali Ahmed Arian on behalf of the Pakistani government donated 100 metric tonnes of Pakistani Rice to the Government of Gambia.

Gambia is going through a food shortage due to ongoing COVID 19 circumstances. The Pakistani government donated rice to help the Gambia overcome the food shortage.

Dr. Ali addressed on the occasion and stated that this donation will represent the brotherhood of both the nations and also reflects the Pakistani commitment and responsibility towards the Gambia.

He also stated that the Pakistani government will help the Gambian government for overall development to tackle the food shortages and water crisis in the long run.

Secretary-general and head of civil services the Gambia thanked the Pakistani government for the donation and also assured that the rice will be provided to needy people. He also stated that this donation will definitely help Gambia to overcome the food shortages that have peaked due to COVID 19.
