Islamabad, 9 December 2021 (TDI): Pakistani National Security Advisor (NSA) Dr. Moeed Yusuf clarified that Pakistan did not offer any military bases to China in Gwadar.
He made these remarks during his interview with Stephen Sackur for HARDtalk. He stated that China and Pakistan are two ironclad friends. The China-Pakistan cooperation is at its peak amid the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he added. He stressed under the CPEC project there are many economic bases in Gwadar which are open for investment for the whole world. But there are neither any Chinese military bases nor Pakistan has offered any military bases to China.
Pakistani National Advisor stressed that Pakistan is equally open to all the countries of the world. Pakistan also offered the same bases to the United States, Russia, and the Middle East which are now given to China.
He denounced the Western propaganda of Chinese militarization in Pakistan under the disguise of the CPEC. The West has been criticizing China that it is making military bases in Pakistan especially in Gwadar in the name of the CPEC. He stated that every country in the world is welcome to become part of the CPEC. They can also know the truth by becoming part of the CPEC that Pakistan has not provided any military bases to China.
Stephen Sackur, the host of the show also asked the Pakistani NSA that why Pakistan is not condemning the Chinese genocide in Xinjiang. Moeed Yusuf responded that Pakistan has sent its envoys in China to Xinjiang and they did not find any proof of the genocide. He pointed out that Pakistan will not support the false Western propaganda against China.
Mooed Yusuf highlighted that China-Pakistan is win-win cooperation for both sides. He stated that the two countries have deep trust in each other. No one in the world can affect the friendship of the two ironclad friends. He highlighted that the two countries will further strengthen their cooperation.
