Istanbul, 10 August 2023 (TDI): Pakistan Destination Promotion and B2B Meeting took place today at the TURSAB Headquarters. The primary objective of this gathering was to introduce and promote Pakistan’s tourism potential, emphasizing its offerings in adventure, culture, and nature tourism.

The event was attended by several distinguished individuals and delegations, including Dr Yousaf Junaid, the Pakistani Ambassador; Uzair Ghumman, the Community Relations Consul; Hafiz Uzair Ali Khan, the President of Pakistani Students in Turkey; Hasan Eker, the TÜRSAB Vice President; and Mehmet Akyıl, a Member of the Board of Directors.

A delegation from TÜRSAB, comprising Regional Representatives and Specialization Chairs, was also present. Officials from Turkish Airlines, representatives from established travel agencies, and members of the press also graced the occasion.

The event served as a platform to showcase Pakistan’s diverse tourism dynamics. Attendees were presented with detailed insights into the country’s landscapes, cultural heritage, and adventure opportunities.

The organizers extended their gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions and active involvement. The event underscored the potential for increased cooperation between the involved parties and nations.

B2B Networking Session

Earlier, in January, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) organized a multi-sector B2B networking session for a high-profile Turkish delegation.

The B2B event drew leading traders from various sectors of both countries, with a total of 350 traders participating in the meetings.

These meetings covered a range of industries, explored potential joint ventures, facilitated the transfer of knowledge & technology, and assessed trade potential in unconventional product segments.

The gathering also discussed the opportunities that would arise once the Turkish parliament had passed the Trade in Goods Agreement (TGA) with Pakistan.

Moreover, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, President of FPCCI, conveyed his positive outlook on strengthening economic and trade ties between Pakistan and Turkey.

He highlighted that trade with Turkey recently exceeded the significant $1 billion benchmark, a milestone not reached in nearly a decade.
