Chinese New Year, a significant festival in Chinese culture, marks the commencement of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar.
This celebration encompasses a series of observances starting from Chinese New Year’s Eve, which precedes the first day of the year, and culminates with the Lantern Festival on the 15th day.
The onset of Chinese New Year aligns with the appearance of the new moon between January 21st and February 20th, heralding a period of renewal, hope, and cultural festivities.

However, Shahid Afraz Khan, a Pakistani expert in Beijing, shared, “This is my eighth Chinese New Year in Beijing, and I am overwhelmed by the warmth and inclusivity of the celebrations. It’s amazing to witness how traditional cultures blend during this festive season.”
Zubair Bashir, a seasoned worker in Beijing, highlighted that the Pakistani community’s active participation not only adds diversity to the festivities but also underscores the robust bond between Pakistan and China.
