Pakistan Fully Committed to ‘One-China’ Policy: FO

Islamabad (TDI): The Foreign Office (FO) on Monday rejected the allegations regarding Pakistan’s commitment to the “One-China” Policy.

FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said Pakistan was fully committed to this policy and that it was a “fundamental pillar of its foreign relations.

“China is Pakistan’s all-weather strategic partner, and this relationship is built on mutual trust, shared values, support on critical issues, and a commitment to regional and global stability,” the FO added.

The much-awaited clarification comes after media reports suggested that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi attended an anti-China event during his private visit to the United States last week.

Naqvi, on the other hand, refuted these allegations on Sunday. He said it was a malicious and baseless campaign to damage his reputation.

“My participation in a youth event has been misinterpreted and exaggerated,” Naqvi said while speaking to the media in Houston.

He, however, stressed that the “misinformation and rumours” would not distract him from his responsibilities and duties.
