Karachi, 18 November 2023 (TDI): The closing ceremony of bilateral navy exercise, Sea Guardian-2023 between Pakistan Navy and People’s Liberation Army (Navy) was held on Friday at Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi.
Commander Qingdao Naval Base, Rear Admiral Liang Yang, visited Pakistan, and Flag officer Called on Commander Coast and Commander Pakistan Fleet of Pakistan Navy, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi.
During the commencement ceremony, Commander Qingdao Naval Base Rear Admiral Liang Yang Thanked Pakistan Navy for hosting Exercise Sea Guardian.
He also expressed hope to have a mutually benefiting and professionally rewarding experience from the joint exercise.
The week-long exercise kicked off on Saturday 11th November which aimed at enhancing maritime cooperation and defense relations through mutual exchange of maritime experience between the navies of Pakistan and China.
The Chinese navy fleet participating in the exercise comprised of six units including naval ships, Submarine and Submarine Rescue Ships along with a Marine Corps detachment.
Sea Guardian-2023 between the Pakistan Navy and the Chinese Navy was conducted in the north Arabian Sea and performed various military drills.
During the bilateral exercise, frontline destroyers, frigates, Air and other assets, and Marines and Special Forces from the Pakistan Navy and Peoples Liberation Army (Navy) carried out advance level joint drills and naval maneuvers.
Along with it professional and social activities during the harbor phase were also conducted.

The objective of the bilateral navy drill, Sea Guardian-2023 is to share professional experiences on contemporary traditional and non-traditional threats in Indian Ocean Region.
It also aims to further enhance bilateral cooperation and interoperability between the Navies of both Pakistan and China.
The Sea Guardian-2023 exercise was a reflection of the strong bilateral military cooperation between the Pakistan Navy and the Chinese Navy.
It will also help to foster greater bilateral cooperation between the navies of both countries. The ceremony was attended by a large number of military officials from both the navies.
