Beijing, 4 September 2024 (TDI): Northwest A & F University (NWAFU) of China, in partnership with the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) of Punjab, Pakistan, and China Machinery Engineering Co Ltd (CMEC), has launched a strategic initiative aimed at exchanging animal and plant germplasm resources and advancing modern bio-health agricultural technologies.
The collaboration, expected to significantly enhance scientific research between the two countries.
It is focused on developing new agricultural technologies, fostering emerging industries, and increasing productivity, particularly in key crops like sesame and pepper.
The partnership has already led to the creation of demonstration fields in Punjab for organic agriculture.
Building on this success, both sides have agreed to expand cooperation to include talent development and technical training, targeting high-quality undergraduate students and vocational agricultural operators.

The initiative also aims to identify key agricultural products for trade, support leading enterprises, and develop China-Pakistan demonstration parks to promote high-quality industrial growth.
Additionally, the collaboration will facilitate short-term exchanges and training for Pakistani agricultural experts and promote agricultural technology within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) framework.
