ISLAMABAD, (TDI): Pakistan and China on Monday signed 13 agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including security, education, agriculture, human resource development, and science and technology.
The agreements were finalized following delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, during which they discussed all aspects of Pakistan-China relations, particularly economic and trade ties and collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Premier Li was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz upon his arrival at the PM House, where he received a guard of honor before the meeting commenced.
During the signing ceremony, both prime ministers and their respective delegations witnessed the agreements being inked.
Among the key documents was a Handing Over Certificate for the Smart Classrooms Project, signed by Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema and Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.
The two sides also finalized the minutes from the 13th meeting of the CPEC Joint Coordination Committee and the 7th Joint Working Group on Gwadar under CPEC. Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Lou Zhaohui, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote cooperation in the Livelihood Working Group of CPEC.

Furthermore, Pakistan and China reached agreements to strengthen collaboration in “Information and Communication,” “Water Conservancy Facilities, Flood Control, and Disaster Reduction,” and “Security.” These MoUs were signed by Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema and Luo Zhaohui.
Ahad Cheema and Luo Zhaohui also signed Letters of Exchange regarding “Human Resource Development under the GDI” and “Assistance Program for Fire Fighting Vehicles to Islamabad.”

The two countries also signed an MoU on the joint support of laboratories, with the document inked by Sajid Baloch, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong. Additionally, they agreed on the “Co-production of TV Programs,” signed by Ambreen Jan, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Ambassador Zaidong.
Finally, the agreements included a Currency Swap Agreement and a Protocol on Quarantine Requirements for the export of donkey meat to China.
