Beijing (TDI): Pakistan and China agreed in principle on four major projects during a meeting held on the sidelines of the International Transport Conference on Tuesday.
The development comes during a meeting between Federal Minister for Communications, Privatisation, & Board of Investment Abdul Aleem Khan and Chinese Transport Minister Li Xiapeng in Beijing today.
The two sides discussed the advancement of the ML-1 railway line, motorways M-6 and M-9, and the second phase of the Karakoram Highway (KKH).

The agenda of the meeting also included the construction of the Kaghan Naran, Jhal Khand, and Babusar Top tunnels, extending to the Karakorum Highway.
The meeting deliberated upon completing these projects under the Public-Private Partnership models.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted the significance of these projects for Pakistan’s development.
“These projects have great significance within the broader China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework,” he said, thanking China for ongoing cooperation.

Minister Li assured continued support from China in future endeavours.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi and senior officials from both nations were present, emphasizing the bilateral commitment to these transformative initiatives.
