Pakistan, Azerbaijan Join Hands Against Corruption

Baku (TDI): Pakistan and Azerbaijan are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral collaboration in the fight against corruption, said Deputy Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sohail Nasir.

Speaking at the sixth plenary meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, arranged by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Baku, he stated that global cooperation is the most vital aspect in the fight against corruption.

He further said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are ready to finalize the deal, emphasizing the need to work jointly to tackle corruption effectively.

He added that both countries can exchange experiences in this field and organize joint training.

These measures, particularly in combating the most serious problem of money laundering, can yield very positive outcomes, Nasir added.

He further noted that the MoU will pave the way for joint initiatives like seminars, training programs, capacity building initiatives, and knowledge sharing.

“This cooperation will boost our mutual efforts in promoting transparency and accountability.”

Deputy Chairman NAB commended Azerbaijan for hosting of the event and said that Pakistan is open for all kinds of assistance and want to work with Azerbaijan.
