Pakistan-Australia Strategic Forum distributed gifts to Kalash People

Chitral, 25 October 2021 (TDI): Caravan Safeerani Aman-o-Muhbbat (Delegation of ambassadors of Peace and Love) Line Club members visited Kumrat and Chitral for four days.

This delegation includes members from civil and medical backgrounds, as well engineers and professors. The caravan also visited Kalash Valley during the visit and in order to support the forthcoming Chattar Mass Religious Festival in December, Pakistan-Australia Strategic Forum distributed gifts to Kailash ladies. Lali Gul and Mir Kahi thanked them for their generosity.

Zeeshan Raza, an Australian Pakistani citizen, through his co-coordinator in Pakistan, Sabteen Raza Lodhi presented the gifts. They informed the Kalash people that Syed Harir Shah would pass all their problems on to PASF, chief executive of Chitral Travel Bureau to help solve local problems, and Zeeshan Raza, the PASF’s chief executive will monitor it.

Lok Rehmat Kalash, a social activist and representative for the Kailash people stated, it is essential to take necessary steps in order to preserve Kalash’s cultural heritage and to set up a hostel for Kalash students.

Therefore, Sabteen Raza Lodhi indicated that in order to enable Kalash students to pursue higher education, PASF would set up hostels in Peshawar or Islamabad for Kalash youth, after consulting with Kailash elders. Many people from the Kailash community were also present at the event.
