Pakistan Engagement for Afghanistan stability
Since the Taliban ascension to power in Afghanistan, Pakistan always called for international engagement to deal with the situation. Apart from the UN humanitarian Aid, Pakistan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) released a resolution. The OIC resolution said that the Islamic bank is to assist Afghanistan by the first quarter of 2022.
The organization also called on the Taliban government to respect international human rights covenants. For instance, the freedoms of women, children, youth, the elderly, and people with special needs.
The OIC resolution consists of donations from member states and international partners to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan through the Humanitarian Trust Fund for Afghanistan. The summit of the OIC occurred on December 19, 2021, and the 57 members states participated in it.
