Pakistan and Ukraine continue to engage in Mango Diplomacy

-

Kyiv, 2 August 2021 (TDI): Pakistan has initiated exporting mangoes to several friendly and potential buying states. This move is done to strengthen diplomatic ties with various countries as well as to promote the fruit to new markets to boost the country’s exports.

Pakistan and Ukraine established diplomatic ties shortly after Ukraine declared independence in 1991. In many sectors, Ukraine and Pakistan had trade agreements with each other. Ukraine has great importance for Pakistan as it is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. Both countries have backed each other up on significant international and regional issues.

Ukraine has also valued its bilateral commerce with Pakistan, particularly of cotton, textiles, and fruits, such as mango and rice. On the 2nd and 3rd of August, the Pakistani Embassy will set up a pavilion at Taras Shevchenko Park, Ukraine, with free mango tastings. This will be done to showcase Pakistani mangoes to Ukrainians.
