Islamabad, 23 June 2023 (TDI): Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto, and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, recently held a significant telephone conversation, strengthening the already robust relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye.

During the conversation, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto extended warm congratulations and well wishes to Minister Hakan Fidan on his new appointment. He expressed sincere appreciation for Minister Fidan’s new role. Additionally, he conveyed enthusiasm about the prospect of working closely with him to advance bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

Both ministers acknowledged the historical and cultural affinity shared by Pakistan and Turkey. They also recognized this affinity as a strong foundation for their enduring partnership. Foreign Minister Bhutto-Zardari expressed his confidence that the Pakistan-Türkiye strategic partnership would continue to grow and prosper under the leadership of the two Foreign Ministers. He highlighted his eagerness to work closely with Foreign Minister Fidan in further strengthening the ties between the two countries.

The Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul Freight Train Project and the MILGEM Ada class corvette are two examples of the shared dedication and relationship growth between Pakistan and Turkey.

Pakistan and Turkey have a strong cultural bond that goes beyond politics and economics. Turkey has established Yunus Emre Cultural Centers in several cities in Pakistan to promote the Turkish language, culture, and tourism.
