Islamabad, 22 August 2024 (TDI): In a ceremony held in Islamabad, Pakistan and Egypt celebrated 75 years of their strategic relations by launching a special postage stamp. Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Syrus Qaziand Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Ihab Abdelhamid attended the event and unveiled the symbolic stamp.
Celebrating 75 Years of Friendship
The stamp was designed to show respect for seven decades of relations and cooperation, showcasing the history and cultural heritage of Pakistan and Egypt. The design shows emotions of mutual respect and relationship established in 1948.
Speaking to the ceremony audience, Foreign Secretary Syrus Qazi admired the strong ties and longstanding partnership between both countries. He said, “The stamp is a confirmation of our relationship; not just a symbol.”
He said that it was launched to grow strength and cooperation in diverse fields such as education, diplomacy, trade, and culture. “Today we need to expand our partnership beyond,” he added.

Egypt’s Dedication and Collaboration
Ambassador Dr Ihab Abdelhamid replied to the dedicated commitments, exposing Egypt’s determination to foster cooperation with Pakistan.
He said that the stamp represents shared history, mutual respect, and values. He noted, “Pakistan and Egypt share a long history of close relationship, and this milestone of 75 years pushes us to work continuously for the betterment of our countries. We look forward to exploring new projects in collaboration.”
Currently, both countries are working eagerly in the areas of defence, education, science and technology. Pakistan consistently supports Egypt on multiple platforms such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The leaders celebrated the successes and expressed hopes to gain closer relations in the upcoming years.
The celebratory stamp will be available to the public and serve as an enduring and lasting message of friendship between Pakistan and Egypt.
Both leaders hoped that the next 75 years would bring greater cooperation, collaboration, and mutual growth. They committed to continue building trust and prosperous relations in the future.
