Pakistan, 8 August 2024 (TDI): Federal Minister for Privatization and Investment, Abdul Aleem Khan, met with Pakistani Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, to discuss bilateral investment opportunities and cooperation. The meeting aimed to promote mutual interests and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Abdul Aleem Khan praised the Pakistani Embassy in China for its excellent services in promoting bilateral relations. He assured that the embassy would provide full support to Chinese companies investing in Pakistan. The minister also welcomed the arrival of over 100 Chinese companies in Pakistan, terming it a positive development.
The minister expressed his commitment to taking all possible measures to make Pakistan-China investment more beneficial. He highlighted potential investment opportunities in various sectors, including textiles, plastics, surgical, and footwear. Abdul Aleem Khan also suggested that Pakistan and China could jointly venture into the construction sector.
The minister emphasized the importance of promoting “business-to-business” activities between China and Pakistan. He urged Chinese companies to extend full cooperation to Pakistani institutions and government authorities. Abdul Aleem Khan acknowledged the proactive role of the Pakistani Embassy in China, particularly the commercial section, which is working tirelessly to promote trade and investment.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Privatization and Investment Board. The discussion focused on exploring new avenues for investment and cooperation between Pakistan and China, with a view to strengthening economic ties and promoting mutual interests.
