Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations through enhanced high-level engagement and robust parliamentary cooperation, underscoring the depth of their long-standing partnership.
The understanding emerged during a meeting between Advisor to the Chairman Senate and Ambassador to the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), Misbah Khar, and the Ambassador of the UAE to Pakistan in Islamabad.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on the current state of Pakistan–UAE relations and explore new avenues for collaboration across multiple sectors.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in investment, trade, and broader economic opportunities, with both sides emphasizing the need to further deepen engagement to unlock mutual benefits.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration in diverse areas to support sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity.
Misbah Khar underscored that Pakistan places great value on its close and time-tested relationship with the UAE, which is anchored in shared history, mutual respect, and strong people-to-people ties.
She noted that the UAE has long been a trusted partner of Pakistan and reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to further elevating bilateral relations.
Emphasizing the role of diplomacy beyond the executive level, Misbah Khar highlighted the significance of sustained engagement through government-to-government, people-to-people, and parliament-to-parliament interactions.

The UAE Ambassador congratulated Misbah Khar on the successful hosting of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) in Islamabad last November.
He appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting parliamentary diplomacy and providing a platform for dialogue among legislative leaders from different countries.
The ambassador noted that such initiatives contribute meaningfully to strengthening international cooperation and bringing nations closer through representative institutions.
Both sides acknowledged that parliamentary exchanges have played a constructive role in reinforcing bilateral ties and agreed that closer interaction between legislative bodies can complement traditional diplomatic channels.
