New York (TDI): The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York brought forward Pakistan’s rich Sufi heritage as it hosted a phenomenal cultural night featuring Qawal Abdullah Manzoor Niazi and Group.
The event took place on the premises of the Consulate General and was a blend of art, music, culture, tradition, and Sufism. Elected representatives, businessmen, professionals, and community leaders came together to enjoy the musical night.
Such cultural events are a regular occurrence among diplomatic communities. They help celebrate native cultures and also introduce them to people in the host country.

Qawali is a form of art and music which is deeply rooted in Pakistan’s Sufi heritage and is performed to awaken spirituality, love, and a sense of divine connection. This tradition is closely linked with renowned Sufi saints like Amir Khusro, Baba Bulleh Shah, and Shahbaz Qalandar.
Abdullah Manzoor Niazi is a famous and celebrated Qawal and also the torchbearer of Niazi Qawal Gharana which is a music lineage known for preserving the authentic traditional style of Qawali.
Niazi group is known for their soulful voice and powerful renditions of spiritual poetry and regularly performs both inside and outside the country.
The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Aamer Ahmed Atozai, attaches great importance to public and cultural diplomacy. Last month, the Consulate General organized an exhibition in New York showcasing the Gandhara Civilization and Buddhist Heritage of Pakistan.
