Pakistan Strongly Condemns India’s Blatant Aggression: Foreign Office

Islamabad (TDI): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has strongly condemned India over its blatant aggression against Pakistan. The statement came in response to the Indian missile attacks targeting civilians in Pakistan in Muridke and Bahawalpur, and across the Line of Control in Kotli and Muzaffarabad.

“In an unprovoked and blatant act of war, the Indian Air Force, while remaining within Indian airspace, has violated Pakistan’s sovereignty using standoff weapons, targeting civilian population across the international border in Muridke and Bahawalpur, and across the Line of Control in Kotli and Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement said.

This act of aggression by India has resulted in the loss of civilian lives including women and children and caused a great threat to Pakistan’s commercial air traffic.

The attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity not only reflects India’s cowardly action but is also a “flagrant violation of the UN Charter, international law and established norms of inter-state relations,” FO noted.

Referring to India’s use of the Pahalgam incident as an excuse to attack Pakistan and disrupt regional peace and security, the Foreign Office said, “In the wake of Pahalgam attack, the Indian leadership has once again used the bogey of terrorism to advance its sham narrative of victimhood, jeopardizing regional peace and security. India’s reckless action has brought the two nuclear-armed states closer to a major conflict.”

It further stated that Pakistan now reserves the right to respond appropriately at a time and place of its choosing, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and as enshrined in international law.

The country “will always act with iron resolve to protect and preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan,” the statement read.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also criticized the Indian government for the attack and said, “The treacherous enemy has launched a cowardly attack on five locations within Pakistan. This heinous act of aggression will not go unpunished. Pakistan reserves the absolute right to respond decisively to this unprovoked Indian attack — a resolute response is already underway.”

He further stated, “The entire nation stands united behind its armed forces, and our morale and resolve remain unshaken. Our thoughts and prayers are with the brave officers and soldiers of Pakistan.”

Responding to India’s attack, Pakistan Air Force has shot down 3 Indian fighter jets including a Rafael and a SU-30, and one Indian drone in Barnala sector, according to Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar.

Three Indian Jets & One Indian Drone Shot down by Pakistan. Pakistan has befittingly retaliated against Indian Aggression. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD ALLAHU AKBAR !!,” he stated on his social media account, X.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army has also been engaging in a strong and calculated retaliatory action against India, and has carried out a successful missile strike, destroying an enemy post in the Bidaniyal sector along the Line of Control.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, India conducted a missile attack inside Pakistan from its territory, targeting five locations, killing at least 8 people and wounding 35 others, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

After the attack, DG ISPR said, “The enemy showed cowardice by firing from across the border but let there be no doubt—we will respond. A befitting reply will be given at the time and place of our choosing.”

He further informed, “The readiness of our air force ensured Indian jets could not dare to enter even a single inch of Pakistani territory.”

Several reports have emerged of shelling in various areas of Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir, where India was reportedly shelling on the front lines. However, the Pakistan Army is said to be responding appropriately.

Due to security threats, the Government of Punjab has announced to shut down all commercial flights from Lahore Airport, for the next 48 hours, and has ordered the schools to remain shut on Wednesday.
