Melbourne (TDI): The Consulate General of Pakistan in Melbourne held a special reception to honor young Pakistani squash players who won remarkable success at the Australian Junior Open Squash Championship 2025.
The Champions are bringing home four gold medal and one silver medal, won in different age categories.
The event, hosted by Consul General Syed Moazzam H. Shah, was attended by a large number of Pakistani community members who came together to celebrate the team’s outstanding success.
Sisters Mahnoor Ali and Mehwish Ali clinched titles in the Girls Under-13 and Under-17 categories respectively, while Sehrish Ali earned a silver medal in the Girls Under-15 category.

In the boys’ matches, Azaan Ali Khan won the Under-17 title and Ahmad Ali Naz claimed the Under-11 title, showcasing the emerging squash talent from Pakistan.
Speaking at the occasion, Consul General Syed Moazzam H. Shah said, “It is a moment of immense pride and honor for Pakistan. These young athletes have brought glory to the country through their hard work and dedication.”
“This small gesture is our way of appreciating their achievements. Competing and succeeding on an international platform like Australia is a significant milestone, and we hope this journey of excellence continues,” he added.

Gold medalist Mehwish Ali shared her excitement, saying, “with this win, I now have 29 gold medals to my name. It’s a great honor, and we all trained very hard for this championship. Our goal as sisters is to continue achieving greater milestones for Pakistan.”
Mahnoor Ali emphasized the importance of promoting women’s squash in Pakistan, while Sehrish Ali reflected on the competitive nature of the tournament, saying, “the Australian Junior Open was a tough competition. All three of us sisters play squash and seeing my sisters win gold motivates me even more.”
The event concluded with a warm reception and words of encouragement for the athletes, reinforcing the Consulate’s commitment to supporting and uplifting Pakistani talent on the global stage, and especially in Australia.
