Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral cooperation in the energy and minerals sectors, reaffirming their commitment to expanding economic ties and promoting mutually beneficial investment opportunities.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy.
The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing collaboration between the two brotherly countries and exploring new avenues to enhance cooperation, particularly in strategically important sectors.
Both sides underscored the importance of deepening economic partnership as a key pillar of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations. Discussions centered on expanding collaboration in energy exploration, development of mineral resources, and encouraging greater private and public sector investment.
The two leaders also emphasized the need for sustained engagement to unlock the full potential of these sectors for shared economic growth.

Ambassador Al-Malkiy appreciated Pakistan’s active participation in the recently held Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, describing it as a significant platform for regional and international dialogue on minerals development.
He highlighted the forum’s role in fostering partnerships, promoting innovation, and addressing global challenges related to mineral supply chains.
The ambassador stressed that continued engagement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would be vital in advancing cooperation in the minerals sector.
Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik congratulated Saudi Arabia on the successful organization of the Future Minerals Forum, noting that the initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership in shaping regional and global discussions on mineral development.
He remarked that the forum offers valuable opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and investment, particularly for resource-rich countries like Pakistan.
