Islamabad (TDI): The Pakistan–Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) held a meeting with Masud Khan, who is the Honorary Consul General of Lithuania in Pakistan. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Shahida Rehmani, the Convener of the Pakistan–Lithuania PFG.
Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in fintech, information technology, and innovation, as well as fostering academic and professional linkages between institutions of the two countries.
Emphasis was placed on promoting gender inclusion, advancing higher education and research, encouraging people-to-people contacts and expanding cooperation in areas such as environmental protection and technology-driven development.
Masud Khan highlighted Lithuania’s significant achievements in biotechnology, stem cell research, fintech, and nanotechnology, alongside the country’s strong focus on innovation and higher education.
He underscored Lithuania’s high global ranking in terms of its graduate-to-population ratio and expressed keen interest in developing academic and professional linkages with Pakistan.

He also noted the rapid growth of Lithuania’s information technology sector and the opportunities it presents for Pakistani professionals and enterprises.
Dr. Shahida Rehmani appreciated Lithuania’s forward-looking policies, particularly in the areas of gender inclusion, education, and innovation.
She expressed confidence that such engagements would deepen mutual understanding, strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and lay the foundation for long-term collaboration between the two nations.
The members of the Pakistan–Lithuania PFG reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing institutional partnerships and expanding bilateral relations.
