Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Board of Investment (BOI), Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, hosted a joint delegation of ASEAN Ambassadors and High Commissioners, to further economic and investment relations with the ASEAN countries.
The delegation included Ambassadors of Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar and High Commissioners of Malaysia and Brunei. Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) was also part of the delegation.
Minister Sheikh, in conversation with the envoys, noted the strategic significance of ASEAN countries as vital partners for Pakistan’s economic growth. He briefed the delegation on the role of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and the Special Investment Facilitation Centre (SIFC).
The Minister added that Pakistan is actively offering a range of incentives to foreign investors, particularly in high-potential sectors such as information technology, infrastructure, textiles, and mining.

Envoys expressed strong interest in exploring investment opportunities across diverse sectors including tourism, the food industry, and emerging technologies.
They appreciated Pakistan’s investor-friendly policies and reiterated their intent to strengthen economic collaboration, improve connectivity, and streamline investment procedures to foster mutual growth.
Secretary BOI Jamil Ahmad Qureshi highlighted the proactive efforts of both the BOI and SIFC in facilitating investors and ensuring a transparent, efficient, and conducive business climate.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing cooperation and promoting sustainable regional development.
The delegates agreed to maintain regular dialogue and pursue actionable initiatives to enhance trade, investment, and connectivity between Pakistan and ASEAN countries.
