Budapest, 28 May 2024 (TDI): Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), led the Pakistan delegation at the 6th Round of Pak-Hungary Bilateral Political Consultations held in Budapest today.
The Hungarian delegation was headed by Deputy State Secretary Ambassador Lazlo Varadi.
The Pak-Hungary political consultations provided a platform for both sides to comprehensively evaluate the existing bilateral ties and engage in constructive dialogue on regional and global developments.

Ambassador Khan and Ambassador Varadi expressed mutual commitment to nurturing and strengthening the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Hungary.
During the discussions, both sides underscored the importance of sustained cooperation and identified new avenues for collaboration across various sectors.
Moreover, their deliberations encompassed a wide array of areas including trade, investment, security, energy, and cultural exchanges.
Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan’s visit also included fruitful meetings with key Hungarian officials, further solidifying the diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

Among these encounters were discussions with State Secretary for Security Policy and Energy Security, Petar Szataray, and Deputy State Secretary for International Cooperation, Atilla Hidegh.
As both nations continue to explore avenues for collaboration, the bilateral relationship is poised to reach new heights, benefiting the peoples of Pakistan and Hungary alike.
