Brussels (TDI): Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium met with Jeremy Knops, General Delegate of COLEAD, along with members of the team, to discuss cooperation in various fields.
The meeting aimed to further strengthen the partnership between Pakistan and COLEAD, particularly in areas of agricultural development, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.
During the discussion, Ambassador Qureshi reviewed the scope of existing collaboration under the COLEAD and AGRIINFO initiatives.

Both sides reflected on the meaningful progress achieved through joint efforts, especially in advancing sustainable agriculture practices, enhancing technical expertise, and supporting Pakistani agri stakeholders with modern knowledge and practical tools.
Ambassador Qureshi commended COLEAD and AGRIINFO for their role in maturing and refining capacity-building deliverables tailored to meet the needs of Pakistan’s agricultural sector.
He acknowledged that COLEAD’s commitment to improving the quality and competitiveness of agri-food systems has not only facilitated knowledge-sharing but also contributed to the long-term resilience of Pakistan’s agricultural economy.
The meeting also served as a platform to explore fresh avenues for cooperation. Ambassador Qureshi and the COLEAD delegation exchanged ideas on how to deepen engagement beyond the current initiatives, with a focus on innovation-driven solutions, sustainable farming practices, and the promotion of climate-smart agriculture.
