United Nations (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar Ahmad on Wednesday contacted top UN leaders and informed them of India’s unprovoked missile attacks on multiple cities of Pakistan in “gross violation” of the country’s sovereignty and international law.
“Acting on instructions from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Ambassador Asim apprised the presidents of the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly as well as the Secretary-General about India’s “blatant aggression” that endangered global peace and security,” according to a statement released by the Pakistani Mission.
It said that the Council has been informed that Pakistan reserves the right to respond appropriately to these attacks at a time and place of its choosing, in accordance with its right to self-defense as enshrined in Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Earlier, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed serious concern over Indian airstrikes across the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border with Pakistan.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, the UN chief called for military restraint from both nations.

He said that the world cannot afford a military confrontation between Pakistan and India.
