Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, held a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, to discuss pressing regional developments, particularly the Gaza situation.
During the call, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on a range of bilateral and regional issues, with a primary focus on the grave situation unfolding in Gaza.
Both leaders emphasized the urgent need for a sustained and immediate ceasefire and reaffirmed their commitment to facilitating humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Dar highlighted Pakistan’s active role in supporting ongoing diplomatic initiatives led by Arab and Islamic countries, especially the recent consultations held in New York.
These efforts aim to forge a united stance in the international arena, pressuring for an end to hostilities and the establishment of a durable peace framework in Gaza.
Pakistan, he noted, welcomes recent developments that indicate potential progress towards peace, including Hamas’ response to a proposed ceasefire plan.

He also said that these developments offer a glimmer of hope for an end to the bloodshed, reiterating Islamabad’s firm support for all efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.
Both ministers also reviewed the state of Pakistan-Egypt bilateral relations and expressed mutual satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
In a gesture to further deepen ties, Dar extended an invitation to Foreign Minister Abdelatty to visit Pakistan, which was warmly accepted.
The conversation concluded with a reaffirmation of both countries’ shared commitment to continued coordination and close diplomatic engagement in the weeks ahead.
