Third Pakistan Culture Festival Unites Communities in Bolzano

Milan (TDI): The Pakistani community in Bolzano came together to celebrate the third Pakistan Food and Culture Festival, which was held in collaboration with the Consulate General of Pakistan.

Participants included local Italian families, government officials, residents of the community, and culture enthusiasts.

The festival displayed goods, ethnic wear exhibits, and a range of traditional food, including biryani, mangoes, and street food.

The event also included live mehndi art, handcrafted decor items, and cultural booths were also there, making it an immersive experience for the public. Community children danced to national anthems, wearing colorful regional dresses.

The Consul General, who was present at the occasion, appreciated the volunteers and the organizers of the event, emphasizing how such events were crucial to the preservation of Pakistan’s heritage.

The first-ever Pakistan Food and Culture Festival was held in 2022, which was an indication of the strengthening of Italy and Pakistan’s relations.

Italy and Pakistan established bilateral diplomatic relations in 1948 and continued to do so in different fields since then. Italy is among Pakistan’s largest trading partners in the European Union, with over 150,000 Pakistanis, the largest Pakistani community in Europe.

Bilateral relations have also increased in the sectors of renewable energy, education, agriculture, and cultural exchange.

Development initiatives in Pakistan have been of growing interest to Italy over the last few years, while Pakistani immigrants in Italy continue to make significant contributions to the host nation’s economy and society.

The event concluded with the presentation of shields to acknowledge individuals for their contribution to community service and the promotion of culture.

As the population of the Pakistani community grows, as well as its integration into Italy, such moves contribute to creating a story of mutual identity, respect, and celebration of diversity.
