Washington (TDI): On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, bestowed Tamgha-i-Khadmat upon Diana MacArthur, for her services in cementing people to people linkages between Pakistan and United States.
The award was presented in an elegant and prestigious investiture ceremony held at the Pakistan Embassy, today. Senator Ben Ray Lujàn from the State of New Mexico, President/CEO of National Peace Corps Association Glenn Blumhorst, and the daughter of former U.S. President L.B. Johnson, Lynda Bird Johnson, also attended the ceremony.
In addition, heads and CEOs of renowned U.S. non-profits, prominent Pakistani Americans, intelligentsia, and international press were also present during the event.

Ambassador Sheikh acknowledged years long services of Diana MacArhur and paid her a glowing tribute for establishing “Center of Education Excellence” in Hunza valley. He also highlighted the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and the US, built on shared values, common interests and mutual respect.
MacArthur’s role in supporting world-renowned Pakistani mountain climber Samina Baig and her mountaineering ventures were also brought to light and appreciated. Ambassador Sheikh also noted the contributions of MacArthur for the people of Pakistan and the United States.
In her speech, Diana MacArthur thanked the Government and people of Pakistan for the award. She expressed resolve to continue working for a brighter and more prosperous future for the people of both countries.
